Michael Sherber, LEED, AP, PE, HBDP, VP Engineering
Michael has over twenty-five years of experience in manufacturing, contracting and design of high performance HVAC equipment and systems. He is nationally recognized for his expertise on indoor air quality, high-performance HVAC system design, air to air energy recovery, evaporative cooling, and desiccant dehumidification. He is a licensed mechanical engineer in seventeen states.
Michael has spoken frequently on high-performance HVAC system design, evaporative cooling, and indoor air quality at US Department of Energy Rebuild America, NESEA and national ASHRAE events. He is very active both at the local and national level in ASHRAE where he is immediate past President of the Connecticut ASHRAE Chapter, former Chair of ASHRAE Technical Committee (TC) 5.5 (Air to Air Energy Recovery), current Chair of TC 5.7 (Evaporative Cooling), and current Vice-Chair of TC 8.12 (Desiccant Dehumidification). He is a former member of the ASHRAE Standard 62.1 (Ventilation for Indoor Air Quality) Committee.
Colin Paterson, Business Development
Colin has over 20 years of experience in Hi-Tech companies in the computing, semiconductor and clean-tech markets in Engineering, Marketing and Business Development roles. An early employee of MMC Networks, a small start-up company in Sunnyvale, CA that created the world’s first Network Processor product and went on to be acquired for $4.5B by AMCC in 2000, Colin created and managed R&D teams in the UK, France and the US. Moving to the Boston area in 2001 was followed by executive business development, consulting and engineering roles for start-up and established US and Asian companies in the semiconductor, wireless and clean-tech arena.
Colin holds B.Eng and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Digital Engineering and an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at U.Mass. Amherst.
Art Laflamme, Engineering Manager
Art brings over 30 years of mechanical design experience in the semiconductor capital equipment field to 7AC. At ASM Ion Implant, where he was responsible for the mechanical design group, Art worked on the highly successful E220 and E500 implanter products.
Past employers include Varian, Eaton and most recently Tokyo Electron where he was the Mechanical Engineering Director for reactive ion etch products. Art’s forte is delivering elegant, robust and cost effective product designs which he is now leveraging on the design of 7AC’s first commercial product.
Art holds 17 US patents and a BS degree in Industrial Arts from Fitchburg State College.
